ECG monitoring represents ECG done during interval of 30 to 45 minutes. We often have patients who complain of heart palpitations or rapid heart rate, who had no heart rhythm disorders on earlier ECG. That happens because patients in that exact moment when they had their ECG done had no arrhythmia, and tape of ECG record is only few seconds long. When we put patient like that on monitoring during half an hour in almost 70 percent of cases we discover the type of heart rhythm disorder.
